The first Encouraging Word I wrote “Power to Get Up” was sent to a friend. After she read it and was encouraged, she requested to take it to her son in prison. I gladly consented. Later we learned that it had been circulating throughout the prison and it was helping all of them. That’s when I began writing the Encouraging Word on a monthly basis just for him. But since I knew several more mothers whose sons were in prison or in drug rehabs struggling with overcoming addictions, I decided to send to them as well. The demand grew to sending these to pastors, friends, the elderly, and even giving them away on the Sunday Down South Radio program. We also sent it to our pastor in Liberia, West Africa since poverty is devastating their country and the need for encouragement is so great. He is using them as a teaching tool in his church. When I began writing these, I had no idea the need for encouragement was so great.
This is why we have chosen to place all of them on our website so that you may download and/or print one or all of them. You may send them to whomever – for free! We hope we can help save the lives of those who contemplate suicide, those who might resort to addictions, those who are depressed or discouraged. They need to know that there is hope in God! So, enjoy reading them and use them however God leads you. It is for you, and others like you, that these have been written. Please consider signing up for our subscription for future publications.
